KALEYDE was launched in Japan in 2017 by Japanese artist Kana Minami. She creates jewelry that captures the picturesque and timeless view of France that captivated her eye, using the vibrant palette of her unique Japanese sensibility for color, inspired by the rich natural hues of Japan. The brand name is derived from kaleidoscope . KALEYDE is a kaleidoscope reflecting a landscape that captivated her.

KALEYDE breathes new life into old materials by transforming them into jewelry, passing on the memories and stories attached to them to their new owners, connecting the past to the future. KALEYDE strives to create timeless and harmonious craftsmanship that unites people and things, nations and cultures, continually connecting us to a future where these connections endure.

Kana Minami / Creator and Founder

Originally from Mie Prefecture, she grew up surrounded by beautiful nature, a constant source of inspiration. After studying design at an art university in Japan, she worked in design offices and antique stores in Tokyo and is now based in Paris as a jewelry artist. Her inspiration for jewelry comes from everything she sees and appreciates: nature, architecture, cityscapes, and more. By combining her Japanese sensibility with historical French materials, she creates unique works.

The poetic philosophy of the Japanese

We believe that spirits (神 / Kami) inhabit all things. Everything in nature, food, buildings, and objects. This philosophy of Shinto (神道) is part of our Japanese culture. To us, spirits are like a warm heart, love, or a memory. Spirits reside in the objects that humans cherish. That is why we are drawn to antique and vintage objects that still exist in the modern world. The antique object is filled with love.
Our job is to create jewelry by giving love back to materials that have already fulfilled their function as objects. And it is you who will breathe into these jewels the next chapter of love and affection.
