Movement ring

This is a silver ring that I designed with the movement of a clock in mind.
It is a delicate design that attracts attention as with Kirie, the Japanese art of paper cutting.
The original form of the “Movement ring” comes from moving parts of an old pocket watch.

When I was lucky enough to get my hands on this watch, it was already in pieces, so I didn't have the chance to see it in its entirety.
When I looked it up, I realized it was an 18th century English watch.
The demands of its creator and owner can be felt from the hand engravings visible on it.
When it was still used as a watch, these small engravings, located on the back of the dial, were invisible.
Wanting at all costs to give these engravings a leading role, I transformed them into a silver ring that can be easily worn.
Since each of them is a handmade work, each one gives a different impression and I would be especially delighted if you could find one to your liking. The reason why I decided to make it into a ring is that this way it is always within sight.

When you look at this watch, isn't it captivating to imagine who its previous owners might have been and where they came from?
